At Artful Underground, we use the term Photographic Gloss to denote the very highest quality printing.  Whether or not the original image is actually a photograph, generally our art can be reproduced as either a poster or canvas wrap.  The highest resolution images with the most detail and color gradation can benefit from an even more specialized technique, representing the ultimate state-of-the-art in printing technology.  Framing is recommended for these prints.

Photographic Gloss products are always reproduced on a Canon PRO-series printer using the Lucia Pro Ink System.  This state-of-the-art system uses 11 colors plus Canon's Chroma Optimizer.  By being applied over the printed image to cover the bumps between ink droplets, Chroma Optimizer levels the ink droplet height to form a flat and smooth ink layer. The result is evenly reflected light, deep blacks, and bright, saturated colors.  This allows our glossy photographs to be viewed at their highest quality in any lighting condition and is something most competitors simply cannot match.

We use the highest quality, professional-grade archival photography substrates available.  This ensures excellent durability as well as extraordinary color performance with vivid colors and firm blacks.  This is a much heaver weight medium than the gloss used for poster printing.
